PRESENTATION
Critics Award 2017 as Best Street Show
Best Show Award at TAC Festival (Valladolid) 2021
Espera is a participatory circus show where the audience is invited, in a subtle way, to experience from close what happens on stage.
When the border between the stage and the audience disappears, the show becomes an opportunity to share a collective experience, where we look at each other in the eyes and we listen to each other with the body.
In an atmosphere that brings us to a place away from our time, made of simple gestures , the acrobats become artisans of movement and lost landscapes appear in front of us, filled with human gestures and honest meetings.
CIRCUS AS A PLACE OF MEETING AND SHARING
Our starting point is the need of human beings to gather around something common.
Sharing fears, hopes and other basic emotions in a group can be very powerful if we manage not to exceed the subtle limit of simplicity.
Together with the audience we walk the path that links the actual language of acrobatic research with the language of traditions and popular rituals.
Sensibility becomes an indispensable tool in order to reach the trust of the audience. Our purpose is to make them feel welcome to participate rather than force to join something they don’t want.

After our studies at Carampa, circus school of Madrid, and DOCH, University of Circus of Stockholm, we focus on researching a personal approach to the pair acrobatics, to transform technique in a rich full tool of communication with audience.
At the end of our studies, in 2008 we founded the Company Celso y Frana, and we create the show “Here begins the story”, that became our visit card to the international market.
During the last years we have dedicated to turning Europe, traveling thousands of kilometers for relatively little representation, about 50 a year. Therefore, for the new creation, we want to create a show whose infrastructure allows to combine the official festival circuits with self-managed performances in surrounding towns.
Thus we expect to create a more sustainable way of working, both on the environmental and economic level, and bring the contemporary circus as an art form and culture in to society, particularly in small towns.

Francesa Lissia
Flyer
After her passage at Carampa Circus School in Madrid, where she meets her base and travelling companion Celso Pereira, she goes to the north of Europe, to the DOCH (University of Dance and Circus in Stockholm) and passes her diploma, specializing in Hand to hand acrobatics, with honors. With Celso she creates the company Celso y Frana and the show Here Begins the Story. In 2009, along with Fabrizio and Armando, she begins a new voyage with the foundation of Compañía de Circo "eia".
Celso Pereira
Base
With a Physical Education Diploma from the INEF in Galicia, he takes his first steps into the world of circus at Carampa Circus School in Madrid, where he meets Francesca Lissia, with whom he gives life to the company Celso y Frana and with whom he also leaves to study in Stockholm. Specializing in Hand to hand catching, mini teeterboard and object manipulation he teams up with the rest of the team of Compañía de Circo “eia’’ at its foundation.

PRESS
“Seeing the acrobatics of Francesca Lissa and Celso Pereira a foot away is a wonderful experience. I think that those of us who were lucky enough to live Espera this Sunday will remember the show for a long time. Nuvol
“Chamber circus that leaves a deep mark on its viewers.” Omar Khan, SUSYQ
“A playful little wonder that radiates community and beauty from simplicity.” Alba Cuenca Sánchez, Recomana.cat
COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES
Compañía de Circo “eia” places human relations at the center of its creations. That is why meeting and sharing with others is one of the activities we enjoy the most.
Espera is a particularly participatory circus show in which the public plays a fundamental role. For this reason, we offer the possibility of complementing the program of the show with three particular versions.
